Who this is

This website is operated by Aldrich Consulting, a trade name of EAE Holdings LLC. EAE Holdings LLC is the business responsible for the information described below, and “I” and “me” on this page mean that business. You can reach it at heath@aldrich.biz or (812) 993-4455.

The short version

I collect two things: what you type into the call-back form, and ordinary technical information about your visit, which includes your IP address. I use a small number of outside services to run this website, deliver its email, and measure its traffic, and your information passes through those services. I do not sell your information for money. Because this site uses Google Analytics with Google’s advertising features switched on, California law treats some of what Google receives as “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising, and you can switch that off in Your privacy choices below.

What you give me

The call-back form asks for your name, email address, phone number, and company name. It also records which page you submitted it from, and the date and time. Nothing on this site asks for payment details, government identifiers, or any other sensitive information, and you should not send those through the form.

What is collected automatically

Like any website, this one records technical information when you visit:

• Your IP address, which identifies the network you are connecting from and is used to work out your approximate location, usually at city level.
• Your browser and device, including type, operating system, screen size, and language.
• Your activity on the site, including the pages you view, when, how long you stay, and the page or search that sent you here.

Cookies

This site sets two cookies, _ga and _ga_ followed by a measurement identifier. Google Analytics uses them to tell repeat visits apart from new ones. They contain a randomly generated identifier rather than your name, and they persist for up to two years unless you clear them.

Nothing on this site requires cookies to function. If you block or delete them, every page still works and the form still submits. You can remove them in your browser settings, block them for this site, or install Google’s opt-out browser add-on, which stops Google Analytics from measuring your visits to any website.

The services that process your information

Running a website means using other companies’ infrastructure. Each of the following receives some of your information because it has to in order to do its job. Each acts as a service provider on my behalf, and none is permitted to use what it receives to market to you:

• Vercel hosts this website. Your request, including your IP address, reaches Vercel’s servers and appears in its logs.
• Google Analytics, operated by Google, measures how the site is used. Google receives your IP address and uses it to estimate your general location. Google states that it does not retain IP addresses in Google Analytics. Google’s advertising features, including Google Signals, are enabled on this property, which means that if you are signed in to a Google account with ads personalization turned on, Google may connect your visit here to its own advertising profile of you and report your age range, gender and interests to me in aggregate. Google’s own privacy policy governs what it does with the data it collects.
• Sanity stores the articles on this site, and serves the images in them. Loading a blog post means your browser contacts Sanity’s content network, which receives your IP address as part of that request.
• Resend delivers the call-back form to my inbox. Everything you type into the form passes through Resend in order to become an email.
• My email provider receives and stores that email, the same way it stores any message anyone sends me.

I may also keep your inquiry in ordinary business systems, such as a contact list or a customer relationship management system, so that I can follow up on it. If that changes in a way that matters to you, this page will say so.

I do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information for money, and I do not send what you type into the form to any advertiser.

Why I use it

Form submissions are used to return your call, answer your question, quote and deliver work, and manage our business relationship. Technical and analytics information is used in aggregate to understand which pages are useful, find what is broken, and decide what to write next. I do not use it to build a profile of you as an individual.

How long it is kept

Analytics. Google Analytics is set to retain visitor-level and event-level data for 14 months, which is the longest period this site’s Analytics account allows, and that window restarts whenever a returning visitor is active. Two things sit outside that setting: Google keeps aggregated reports, meaning totals by page and by date with no individual attached, for as long as the account exists; and age, gender and interest information expires after two months no matter how the setting is configured.

What you send me. Your form submission and any correspondence that follows it are kept for as long as they are relevant to my business or to our relationship. In practice that means an active or recent client’s records stay, an inquiry that went nowhere years ago does not, and anything you ask me to delete goes when you ask.

Hosting logs. Vercel keeps these for a short period that it sets, not me.

I do not keep personal information longer than I need it for the purposes described on this page.

Your privacy choices

California law defines “sharing” as disclosing personal information to a third party for cross-context behavioral advertising, whether or not money changes hands. Because Google’s advertising features are enabled on this site’s analytics, the identifiers Google collects here may fall under that definition. Nothing you type into the call-back form is included: your name, email, phone and company go to me, not to Google.

You can stop it in any of these ways, and you do not need to tell me why:

• Use the button above. It sets a preference in this browser that stops analytics loading on this site, and clears the analytics cookies already there. It applies to this browser on this device, so you would need to do it again elsewhere.
• Turn on Global Privacy Control. Some browsers and extensions send an automatic opt-out signal. This site checks for it on every page and will not load analytics at all when it sees one. Nothing further is required from you.
• Install Google’s opt-out browser add-on, which stops Google Analytics measuring your visits to any website, not just this one.
• Turn off ads personalization in your Google account, which stops Google connecting what it sees here to its advertising profile of you.

Your choices

Write to heath@aldrich.biz and ask me to tell you what I hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and I will. You do not need to explain why, and there is no charge. Depending on where you live, you may have these rights by law; I intend to honor the request either way.

You can also stop most of the collection yourself: block cookies, use the Google opt-out add-on, or simply not submit the form. Call me at (812) 993-4455 instead if you would rather not put anything in writing.

A few things worth stating plainly

This site is aimed at businesses, not children, and I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. The services above operate in the United States and, in some cases, elsewhere, so your information may be processed outside the country you live in. And while I take reasonable care with what I hold, no website or email system can be guaranteed secure, so please do not send anything through this site that would cause you harm if it were exposed.

Changes

I will update this page when what the site does changes, and the effective date above will change with it.
